COVID-19 Office Updates

To our valued patients,

In times of uncertainty, we want you to know that safety is our highest priority regarding the health of our patients, employees, and families.

Our office will be closed through the month of April.  We plan of phasing in a re-opening starting on May 4th.  The week of May 4th we will see neuro-developmental evaluations, acquired brain injury evaluations, binocular vision evaluations and medical eye examinations.  In addition we will do re-checks on our therapy patients as well as therapeutic re-evaluations.

Beginning the week of May 11th, we will begin to see Vision Therapy and Rehabiliation patients in the office.

Beginning the week of May 18th, we will begin to see Myopia Management and Routine patients.

All patient forms are now located on our website.  You can even scan your drivers license and insurance card prior to your arrival.  All forms must be filled out online- we cannot see anyone who has not done so.  No paper forms will be accepted until restrictons have been lifted. We also now offer online payments for services.

In the meantime, Dr. Shidlofsky will be available for Urgent or Emergency care visits. Please call our office 972-312-0177 and leave a message and we will get back with you shortly and set up a time for you to come in. Vision Quest Optical will also be open on an appointment basis. Call 972-428-0236 to set up a time.

When we return, it will be under strict guidelines:  

We have installed HEPA filtration units throughout the office.  In addition, we have adopted a strong social distancing policy and cleanliness policy.  All patients and all staff will be required to wear facemasks and in some cases sterile gloves.  We ask that patients bring their own facemasks to the office.  Upon entering our office you will be immediately taken to a hand washing station.

There will be more details on this as we contact you to re-set your appointments.

If you or a family member have had any of these we will ask you to re-schedule:

  1. Fever >100 degrees, cough, trouble breathing?
  2. Cold and/or flu symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, body aches?
  3. Body rash with fever?
  4. Traveled outside the country?
  5. Were you tested positive for COVID 19
  6. Have you been in contact with a person who contracted COVID 19

All of our staff also has to take this "test" daily.
